The Alienware Renewal Pod is an immersive brand experience designed to offer a moment of pause from the demands of daily life. In a world filled with constant connection, multitasking, and endless responsibilities, this unique space provides an escape where both gamers and non-gamers can rejuvenate, spark creativity, and find joy through a sensorial experience. The pod combines relaxation techniques with gaming and color theory to create an environment that encourages mental clarity and wellbeing. The Alienware Renewal Pod successfully launched during Austin’s SXSW 2024, 77% of participants felt rejuvenated and 43% of participants felt included by Alienware.

This project was a unique cross-functional team effort, bringing together diverse perspectives to tackle a bold challenge. The assignment was to develop an epic idea that not only elevated our brand but also showcased how our technology could help humans make a positive impact.
We designed and built the Alienware Renewal Pod to be high-tech and alien-like from the outside and other-worldly from the inside. This 8-foot tall pod is a cuboidal shape with a distinct arch door opening leading into a sound dampening space. The inside featured 360 degrees of our AlienFX lighting panels with customizable colors depending on the joyful, tranquil or creative mood selected. We used color theory to curate the moods we wanted people to feel when in the pod. The pod was designed to house our top-of the line Alienware set-up which includes the Aurora R16 desktop, 4K monitor, illuminated keyboard, gaming mouse and noise-cancelling headphones and a one-of-a-kind gaming chair designed with ergonomics in mind. 

My involvement

The concept for the Alienware Renewal Pod originated from my vision and was further developed through a collaborative effort with a diverse team of seven members, each bringing unique skills and perspectives. Throughout the process, we worked closely together with the Alienware team at every stage to shape and refine the experience, ensuring it embodied Alienware’s brand look and mission to embrace the unconventional and spark curiosity.
  • 77% of participants felt rejuvenated afterwards, and 58% said they would tell others about it.  

  • The Alienware Renewal Pod was an unexpected and invigorating experience at SXSW 2024.

  • It was featured twice in an Austin American-Statesman article that covered highlights from SXSW 2024 weekend one.

  • It attracted significant interest; an overwhelming amount of mentions on X, Instagram and gaming blogs.
